Assam STF Seizes ₹9 Crore Worth Of Heroin, Four Traffickers Arrested In Kamrup

Guwahati, Jan 15: In a significant drug bust, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) seized over ₹9 crore worth of heroin in Amingaon, Kamrup district. The operation, conducted early this morning, led to the arrest of four individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.

The STF team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Kumar Pathak, intercepted a Scorpio vehicle and discovered 1 kg 128 grams of heroin hidden in secret compartments. The identities of the arrested suspects have not been revealed as investigations continue.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the STF’s swift action in combating the drug menace, taking to social media to say: “Spoiling your drugs party today, tomorrow, every day. Good job Assam Police.”

This successful operation is part of Assam Police’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking, with multiple large drug seizures and arrests having been made in recent months.
