A Tata Sumo veered off the road and fell into a gorge along National Highway 6 near Rattachera in East Jaintia Hills (EJH) district, Meghalaya. The accident claimed the lives of two passengers, while two others were left severely injured.

Troops from the 172 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed in Meghalaya responded immediately to the scene. They provided urgent medical assistance and evacuated the injured survivors, coordinating with local authorities to manage the situation.
