Para-athlete Hokato Sema from Nagaland was honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award for 2024 by President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. This award recognizes his exceptional achievements in the field of Para-Athletics.
Sema gained international recognition for his performances, including a bronze medal in the Men’s Shot Put F57 category at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France, and another bronze in the same event at the 2023 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China.
The Arjuna Award, one of India’s highest sporting honors, is presented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to athletes who have demonstrated exceptional performance in sports.
