Aizawl, Jan 23: The Mizoram Truck Owners’ Association (MTOA) has halted operations on the Aizawl-Silchar National Highway in protest against its poor condition.
Beginning Thursday at 7 am, trucks transporting essential commodities and construction materials ceased their services along the critical highway, which links Mizoram with Assam.MTOA General Secretary Dina Tlau stated that the protest was aimed at drawing attention to the deteriorating state of the road.
However, oil tankers and trucks carrying cooking gas continued to operate, officials confirmed.
