Startup Tripura Portal and ₹75 Lakh Fund Unveiled: CM Dr Manik Saha Launches State’s Startup Policy 2024

Agartala, January 24, 2025: The Tripura government has reaffirmed its commitment to creating employment opportunities for the youth, with Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha launching the “Tripura Startup Policy 2024” at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala city on Friday. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, as articulated in his frequent remarks, “The youth are the greatest assets of the nation. Their development propels the nation forward on the path of progress.”

The Tripura Startup Policy 2024 aims to foster entrepreneurship, provide financial and technical support to aspiring entrepreneurs, and create a robust startup ecosystem in the state. Addressing the event, Chief Minister Saha emphasized, “This policy is not just about creating jobs but empowering our youth to become job creators. It will support their dreams and aspirations while contributing significantly to the state’s economy.”

The Chief Minister flagged off a promotional vehicle disseminating information about the policy and launched the Startup Tripura Portal, a platform to assist young entrepreneurs. Additionally, a cheque of ₹75 lakh from the Tripura Startup Venture Capital Fund was handed over to the CEO of Agastya Edutech Startup. Certificates of eligibility were also presented to I-Logitron Technologies Private Limited and X-Layer Technology Private Limited.

Highlighting the policy’s features, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha remarked, “The curiosity and innovation among the youth of Tripura are commendable. In the last three years alone, 127 startups have been registered in the state. This policy will provide a much-needed boost to entrepreneurial ventures.” The policy includes an initial capital grant of ₹2 lakh, a monthly operational subsidy of up to ₹20,000, and targeted support for startups led by women and Divyangjans. Entrepreneurs can also avail up to ₹10 lakh for prototypes, ₹5 lakh for marketing, and ₹10 lakh for patent filing support.

Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, along with Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the IT Department, and JR Geshan B., Director of Meiti Startup Hub praised the government’s proactive approach. “This policy is a game-changer for the state’s youth and will set a benchmark for innovation-driven growth,” noted Kiran Gitte.

The event also saw participation from the District Magistrate of Sepahijala district, Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal and other guests. As the state takes strides in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, the Tripura Startup Policy 2024 stands as a testament to its vision of a self-reliant and progressive youth-driven economy.
