Gangtok, Jan 25: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met Buddhi L. Khamdhak at his official residence on Saturday to offer his best wishes as the distinguished scholar prepares for a prestigious academic journey to Japan.
Khamdhak, a renowned expert in Limbu Mundhum and rituals, has been invited to deliver lectures at the Nakamura Hajime Eastern Institute and Kokugakuin University in Tokyo. His extensive research in Limbu culture, language, literature, and politics has earned him national and international recognition.
With over 14 published books and numerous contributions to preserving and promoting Limbu heritage, Khamdhak is the first Limbu scholar from Sikkim to be invited to academic fellowships in both Japan and Europe.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that Khamdhak’s continued work would inspire future generations and further contribute to the global understanding of Limbu traditions.
