Itanagar, Jan 27: In a historic achievement for Arunachal Pradesh, para-athlete Techi Sonu has been selected by the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) to represent India at the prestigious Sharjah 2025 International Para Athletics Championship. The championship, hosted by Althiqah Club for the Disabled, will be held from February 2 to February 4 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Techi Sonu, who has brought immense pride to Arunachal Pradesh through his outstanding achievements in state, zonal, and national events, will be the first para-athlete from the state to compete at an international para-athletics event.
With a slew of accolades to his name, including gold medals in state and national championships, Techi Sonu has paved the way for para-sports in Arunachal Pradesh. He founded para-sports in the state, creating an environment where para-athletes could showcase their talents.
