Agartala, January 27, 2025: In a moment of immense pride for the state, renowned educationist, former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, and literary scholar Professor Arunoday Saha has been honored with inclusion in the prestigious list of Padma Shri awardees. Celebrating this milestone, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Editor Arun Nath, Journalist Pranab Sarkar and numerous well-wishers visited his residence on Sunday to extend their greetings and heartfelt congratulations.

Speaking to reporters, Professor Saha shared his joy, stating, “I was overjoyed when I received a call from Delhi last night informing me about the Padma Shri award. Since then, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of congratulatory messages from people across the state.”

Reflecting on the evolution of education, he remarked, “The current education system has improved significantly. Today’s children possess a broader knowledge base compared to previous generations. The integration of technology has truly revolutionized the development of human education.”

Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who visited Professor Saha to personally convey his gratitude and congratulations, expressed his admiration. “After hearing the news last night, I immediately called Professor Saha to congratulate him. Today, I visited his home to share this joyous moment in person,” said the minister. During the visit, Professor Saha presented him with his acclaimed book ‘Nid Nahi Aankhipate.’

Highlighting the professor’s multifaceted contributions, the minister added, “Professor Arunoday Saha is not only a gifted fiction writer but also a distinguished economist. His achievements and recognition with the Padma Shri award make every citizen of this state proud.”
