Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein Inaugurates The 4th Edition Of Arunachal Yuva Samanvay In Aalo

Aalo, Jan 29: The 4th edition of Arunachal Yuva Samanvay was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) Chowna Mein on Tuesday at Kombo Jirdin village in West Siang district. The event, which celebrates the state’s youth and its rich cultural heritage, provides a platform for young people from all 26 major tribes of Arunachal Pradesh to come together, showcase their talents, and promote unity.

With the theme ‘Youth for Satat Vikas’ (Youth for Sustainable Development), the celebration blends traditional heritage with modern aspirations, aiming to empower youth and promote national integration. The event also highlights the importance of the state’s young people in shaping Arunachal’s future.

In his address, DCM Mein emphasized that the youth of Arunachal Pradesh are the leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. “It is our collective responsibility to nurture their potential and guide them toward building a developed Arunachal Pradesh,” he stated.

Mein also pointed out ongoing government initiatives to support youth development, including scholarships for academic excellence, youth desks in major cities, and youth parliaments. Special attention is being given to sports with the establishment of the Arunachal Olympic Mission and the construction of a FIFA-standard football stadium in Itanagar.

Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Kento Jini, explained the decision to hold the event in Kombo Jirdin, noting it offers participants an opportunity to learn about the local culture of the Galo tribe. He also urged youths to avoid substance abuse and announced a ban on alcohol and tobacco products at the venue during the event.

Earlier in the day, DCM Mein inaugurated a double-court badminton hall in Hisam Colony, Aalo, and pledged Rs 2 crores for the development of a gallery and additional courts at the Taken Riba DBA Indoor Badminton Stadium.

The event was attended by various leaders and officials, including MLAs Topin Ete and Nyabi Jini Dirchi, former minister Doi Ado, and other prominent figures. Over the next few days, the Arunachal Yuva Samanvay is expected to be a celebration of the state’s vibrant youth culture and a significant step towards empowering future leaders.
