In a major crackdown on illicit drug cultivation, a joint team of the Senapati Police, Forest Department, and District Administration has successfully destroyed 4.8 hectares of illegal poppy plantations at Kangjang Hills in Senapati district.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh took to X to commend the efforts of the teams involved, stating, “I appreciate the teams for their dedication and efforts. The fight against drugs is not just a law enforcement effort but a collective responsibility. I urge all citizens to stand with us in building a drug-free, healthier, and more prosperous Manipur.”

The latest operation marks another significant step in Manipur’s ongoing battle against drug production and trafficking, reinforcing the government’s commitment to eradicating the menace of narcotics from the state.
