Guwahati, Jan 29: Assam Police successfully apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, on Tuesday for attempting to illegally cross into India near the border. The individuals, identified as Hubha S, Mithun S, and Pinki Molla, were arrested and subsequently pushed back to Bangladesh.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the alertness of the security forces, stating on social media, “Strict vigilance along the border continues. In an alert move by @assampolice, 3 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended near the border trying to illegally sneak in.”

Sarma also emphasized the effectiveness of border security measures, including the nearly completed fencing along the India-Bangladesh border, and assured that Assam remains vigilant against illegal infiltrations. The Chief Minister also raised concerns about attempts by Pakistan’s ISI and terror groups in Bangladesh to form alliances with local groups in Assam.
