Manipur Governor, CM Pay Tribute On Martyrs’ Day

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh paid heartfelt tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence on Martyrs’ Day.

Governor Bhalla, in a social media post, emphasized the enduring legacy of these heroes, stating, “Their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to truth, non-violence, and justice continue to inspire generations. Let us honor their legacy by upholding the values they fought for and striving for a just and peaceful society.”

Chief Minister Biren Singh attended the official Martyrs’ Day function at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal, in the presence of the Governor. Sharing his thoughts on X, he wrote, “Paid rich tributes to Pujya Bapu, whose principles of non-violence, truth, and self-reliance continue to inspire us and remain a guiding principle in our endeavors to build a promising future for the nation.”

The solemn occasion marked a reaffirmation of the state’s commitment to Gandhian values and the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters.
