The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur and Manipur University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Naorem Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University, and Prof. Krishnan Baskar, Director of IIIT Manipur, with an emphasis on joint research projects, funding opportunities, semester exchange programs, student internships, and collaborative workshops, seminars, and conferences. The event also saw the presence of Prof. Nameirakpam Basanta Singh, Dean of the School of Engineering at Manipur University, and Dr. Nongmeikapam Kishorjit, Registrar of IIIT Manipur.
Founded in 2015 under the Ministry of Higher Education, Government of India, IIIT Manipur has made significant strides in establishing the state as a key player in IT education and industry. Notably, the institute recently set up a 5G research lab, one of the 100 institutions across India selected by the Government of India to be part of this initiative. This facility is expected to serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and faculty collaborations under the new MoU.
This partnership is set to open new avenues for knowledge sharing, technological innovation, and the growth of Manipur as a prominent center for IT and digital advancements.
