Manipur Police on Thursday apprehended two active members of the Volunteers Welfare Fund for their involvement in extortion activities in the Imphal area.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Yumlembam Khelen Singh (40) and Huidrom Langambam Singh (30). They were nabbed from the Sagolband Tera area in Imphal West District.

During the operation, police recovered the following items from their possession are two mobile phones, one lock and key and one demand note. Authorities have launched further investigations into the case to ascertain the extent of their operations.
