Manipur soared to the top of the National Games 2025 medal tally on Day 4, amassing nine gold, seven silver, and three bronze medals. Services climbed to second place, just one medal behind.

Manipur’s dominance in weightlifting continued, with Bindyarani Devi setting a national record in the women’s 55kg category. She lifted a total of 201kg—88kg in snatch (new national record) and 113kg in clean and jerk—securing gold.

The state’s wushu athletes also delivered an impressive performance, claiming one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Kangjam Monish Singh clinched gold in the men’s Taijijian, while Wahengbam Bhumeswor Meetei took bronze. Khaidem Bidyashwori and N Malemnganba earned silver in the women’s Taijiquan and men’s Gunahu events, respectively, while Oinam Bidyapati Chanu won bronze in the women’s 56kg sanda event.

With their strong showing, Manipur climbed to the top of the standings with 19 medals. Services made a major push, winning nine medals on Friday—including five gold—to take their total to 18 (9 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze). Karnataka, previously in second place, dropped to third in the overall rankings.
