Shillong, Feb 5: Meghalaya has introduced a digital education initiative aimed at improving student performance across the state’s schools. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma launched the Meghalaya Class Readiness Program (MCRP), which includes e-books and interactive resources for subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science.

The MCRP is designed to address gaps in the state’s education system by incorporating modern, interactive learning methods. It will serve as a bridge course at the start of each academic year, covering primary through secondary education levels.

Sangma emphasized that the initiative’s goal is to enhance pass percentages by fostering an engaging learning environment. The programme also aims to support teachers with tools to deliver more effective and interactive lessons.

Key components of the MCRP include specialised activity packs that reinforce fundamental concepts and help students meet grade-appropriate learning benchmarks. The programme adopts a competency-based approach to ensure students build strong foundations for future academic challenges. This marks a significant step in Meghalaya’s efforts to modernize its education system through the use of digital tools and structured learning.
