Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on February 5 lauded the successful conclusion of the one-day session of the Second Session of the Eleventh Sikkim Legislative Assembly, which was dedicated to the people of the state. The session commenced with an address by Governor Om Prakash Mathur, followed by formal legislative proceedings.
The session saw the oath-taking of newly elected legislators Aditya Golay (07-Soreng-Chakung) and Satish Chandra Rai (11-Namchi-Singithang). A tribute was paid to the late Thutob Bhutia, a former Assembly member, through a condolence motion presented by Speaker M.N. Sherpa, with support from the Chief Minister and other members.

The session also addressed significant matters such as the election of the Estimates Committee, presentation of the Separate Audit Report, and tabling of annual reports from various departments.
In his address, Chief Minister Tamang emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, religious neutrality, and support for marginalized communities. He thanked the people of Sikkim for re-electing the government with a clear majority and assured continued focus on multi-dimensional development.
The Chief Minister also extended his gratitude to Speaker M.N. Sherpa for efficiently conducting the session and to Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa for her support, acknowledging the active participation of all ministers and members in ensuring the session’s success.
