Shillong, Feb 6: In a bid to address the rising prices of essential commodities, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has constituted a Task Force to investigate price fluctuations and regulate price hikes across the state.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department and various stakeholders to discuss the impact of price hikes on the public.
The Task Force will probe price fluctuations at different levels of the supply chain for essential items such as meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and suggest measures to control price increases.
