Agartala, February 24, 2025: A terrifying armed robbery in Ward No. 3 of Tripura’s Gobindapur Panchayat under Churaibari Police Station has sent shockwaves across the North Tripura district. Late at night, a group of armed robbers stormed into a house, held the owner and his son at gunpoint and looted gold, silver and cash before escaping. The brazen attack has triggered widespread panic among residents.
Sources informed that the incident took place around 3 AM when a gang of masked assailants broke into the residence of Sadhan Deb. “They shattered the door, pointed guns at us and warned us not to scream. If we did, they said they would kill us,” said Deb, still shaken by the ordeal. His son Sagar was also held hostage as the robbers ransacked their home.
Deb further revealed a chilling detail: “They were dressed in army uniforms and carried guns and batons. Within minutes, they took everything valuable and disappeared.” The attackers reportedly subjected the victims to physical torture before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the report, a high-level police team, including Churaibari Police Station officers, rushed to the spot. “A full-fledged investigation has been launched. We are examining all leads to track down the criminals,” said Superintendent of Police Abhinash Rai. Accompanying him were Subdivision Police Officer B. Zorinpuiya and Assistant Superintendent of Police Jeremiah Darlong.
A forensic team has been summoned to gather crucial evidence. “We are working round the clock to solve this case. The culprits will not escape justice,” an official added. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the area, with TSR (Tripura State Rifles) personnel deployed to prevent further incidents.
This shocking incident has left locals terrified, demanding swift action. “If such crimes happen despite police presence, where is our safety?” questioned a worried resident. Authorities have assured the public that the perpetrators will be caught soon.
