Agartala, February 25, 2025: The Tripura police have successfully conducted an anti-drug operation seizing a large quantity of brown sugar and Eskuff cough syrup from a residence at AD Nagar in Agartala city. The owner of the house has been arrested.

According to AD Nagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bijoy Das, the market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be over Rs 1 lakh.

OC Bijoy Das informed reporters that the raid was carried out based on a tip-off indicating that a substantial amount of drugs was stored at the residence of Biplab Dey, a resident of the Gazaria Camp market area under Arundhatinagar police station.

“Biplab Dey was reported to be selling drugs to the local population. Acting on this information, we conducted the raid and recovered Escoff and brown sugar. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be over Rs 1 lakh,” said OC Das.

In the same operation, the police arrested the owner of the house Biplob Dey as part of their ongoing efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region.
