Under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, the Manipur Urban Development Agency (MUDA) distributed waste management machinery to 10 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) at a handover event held at the City Convention Centre today.
The equipment, including Trommels, Conveyor Belts, Vegetable Shredders, and Fatka machines, was officially handed over by Principal Secretary of MAHUD, Shri RK Dinesh Singh.
MAHUD Director and Secretary MUDA, Shri Ngangom Uttam, highlighted that some towns, such as those in Mayang Imphal, will operate under a cluster system for sustainability, while six municipalities in the Thoubal region will function independently.
The initiative, funded at ₹2.35 crore under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, aims to enhance waste processing through Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), contributing to improved urban cleanliness and sustainability in Manipur.
