Agartala, March 27, 2025: In a significant boost to urban development, the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has released ₹240.5 crore to Tripura for achieving urban planning reforms, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced on Thursday.
“This fund will transform 20 Municipal and Nagar Panchayat areas with crucial infrastructure projects,” said CM Saha, expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister Manohar Lal for their continued support to Tripura’s progress.
The allocated funds will be utilized for multiple development projects, including water supply and flood management, solar-powered street lights and high-mast lights, CCTV installation in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Water ATMs and market development, as well as the establishment of Urban Anganwadi Centres and riverfront development.
“This initiative is a step towards making Tripura a model state under the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Our government is committed to ensuring sustainable and modern urban infrastructure,” added the Chief Minister.
The announcement marks a major milestone in Tripura’s urban transformation, aiming to enhance public amenities, safety, and environmental sustainability across municipal areas.
