The District Magistrate of Churachandpur has enforced a round-the-clock (24×7) public curfew in select areas and sub-divisions of the district, citing prevailing law and order concerns, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
According to official orders issued by District Magistrate Dharun Kumar, the decision follows a report from the Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur. The full curfew has been imposed in V Munhoih and Rengkai localities under the Churachandpur sub-division, as well as in the entire Kangvai, Samulamlan, and Sangaikot sub-divisions.
Meanwhile, in other parts of the district, including town areas, the curfew will remain relaxed daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. until April 17, allowing residents access to essential items and services.
Authorities stated that further relaxation of curfew hours will be reviewed and notified based on ongoing assessments of the law and order situation.
