Sikkim, Apr 16: The Indian Army has successfully completed ARMEX-24, a high-altitude expedition that tested the endurance, resilience, and operational readiness of its personnel.
The 28-day expedition, which took place from March 22 to April 14, 2025, spanned 146 kilometres, starting from the dense jungles of North Bengal and concluding in the snow-covered highlands of Sikkim. A specially selected team of 20 soldiers participated in the rigorous mission, navigating steep gradients, unpredictable weather, and rugged terrain.
The expedition included 18 days of continuous movement across challenging landscapes, with the soldiers enduring altitudes above 14,000 feet and low-oxygen conditions.
The Army highlighted that ARMEX-24 is a demonstration of the Indian Army’s core values of perseverance, discipline, and mission readiness. “Such expeditions sharpen leadership, foster camaraderie, and ensure that our soldiers are always prepared for operational challenges,” stated a senior Army official.
The successful conclusion of ARMEX-24 reinforces the Army’s commitment to realistic training in extreme conditions, while also inspiring youth across the nation to embrace resilience and national service.
