Agartala, April 16, 2025: A tragic incident took place during MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) work in Tripura’s Nailahabari under Ambassa block of Dhalai District on Wednesday, claiming the lives of two workers and leaving two others seriously injured.
According to local sources, the workers were engaged in a government-sanctioned project when a tree unexpectedly fell, crushing four individuals. Robert Malsom (22) and Juhirani Malsom died on the spot.
The injured—Suryasa Malsom (35) and Jagatbhakta Malsom (50)—were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the locals, with residents mourning the sudden and tragic loss of life.
