In a major crackdown on insurgent activity, security forces conducted a cordon and search operation at the YBC Club near the SDC office in Heirok Part-III under Heirok Police Station, Thoubal District. The operation led to the arrest of seven individuals associated with the proscribed outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), including one juvenile.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Waikhom Dinku (28) of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East; Mayangmayum Ribaz Khan alias Pat (41) of Porompat Pangal Leirak, Imphal East; Angom Bobi alias Wataba (33) of Nongada Awang Leikai, Imphal East; Ningthoujam Choaba Singh alias Hingchaba (38) of Thongju Pishum Lampak, Imphal East; Leishangthem Tomba alias Thabal Meitei (25) of Thoubal Leishangthem Wangmataba, Thoubal District; Md. Sirajuddin alias Kham (45) of Phoidel Moirangpali, Thoubal District; and a juvenile whose identity has been withheld.

During the operation, a large cache of arms, ammunition, and communication equipment was recovered. The seizure includes one INSAS LMG with a magazine, two INSAS rifles with one magazine, one carbine with three magazines, one MA3 MK-11 rifle with a magazine, one SLR magazine, 76 rounds of 5.56 INSAS ammunition, 69 rounds of 9mm ammunition, three SLR rounds, 13 rounds of .303 bolt-action ammunition, two round chargers, 11 Android mobile phones, two keypad phones, three radio handsets with two chargers, three pistol holsters, a two-wheeler, a four-wheeler, five identity cards, one debit card, one blank cheque, 38 KCP (PWG) badges, four MPA badges, two stamp pads, one Nepali currency note of 20 denomination, and Rs. 34 in Indian currency.

Additionally, security forces seized 11 p-caps, two knee guards, two belts, 14 camouflage T-shirts, one jacket, 12 camouflage long pants, nine bags, eight pairs of shoes, and several literature documents related to the outlawed group.

In a separate operation on the same day, Manipur Police apprehended another KCP (PWG) cadre from the Wangoi area in Imphal West. The arrested individual has been identified as Umananda Sharungbam (37) of Haoreibi Awang Leikai.

Authorities have intensified their efforts to dismantle insurgent networks across the state, with investigations currently underway.
