As part of the Indian National Congress’s nationwide campaign titled “Congress Truths, BJP Lies”, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) held a press conference today at Congress Bhavan in Imphal to expose what they termed as the “BJP’s lies” surrounding the National Herald case.

The press conference comes in the wake of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) naming senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in its chargesheet alleging money laundering of Rs 988 crore. The chargesheet also includes Congress Overseas Chief Sam Pitroda, Suman Dubey, and other party associates.

Addressing the media were Congress party’s Manipur in-charge Mathew Antony, MPCC President Keisham Meghachandra, and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh. The leaders denounced the ED’s charges as politically motivated and accused the BJP of misusing investigative agencies to tarnish the image of Congress leadership ahead of the elections.
