Imphal, Apr 21: Security forces have arrested two active members of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), also known as Pambei, for their involvement in extortion activities. The individuals, identified as Yumnam Naocha Singh (24), alias Mengba, and Heikrujam Bidyachandra Singh (28), alias Bruce, were detained near Nongdam village along the Napetpalli Andro Road under the jurisdiction of Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East District.

The duo was reportedly extorting funds from vehicles traveling on the road to finance their group’s activities.

Recovered items from their possession include: Two mobile phones, Two sling bags, One wallet containing Rs. 3,630, and One ID card. Authorities have initiated further investigation into the case.
