Aizawl, Apr 22: The Centre has sanctioned the deployment of approximately 120 armed personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to provide security at Lengpui Airport, the only airport in Mizoram, starting April 24.

This will make Lengpui Airport the 69th in India to receive CISF security coverage, with the CISF serving as the national civil aviation security force.

It will also mark the first deployment of CISF personnel at an airport in Mizoram.
