The District Administration Kakching, in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell under the Social Welfare Department, Kakching, today organised the closing function of the 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada at the Community Hall, Keirak Keithel Lampak.

The event was graced by Smt. Shanti Leima as the Chief Guest. Dr. Thaodem Rajen, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kakching, and Shri Y. Achouba, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Kakching, attended as Guests of Honour. Shri Ningthoujam Parango, District Project Officer/Child Development Project Officer (DPO/CDPO), Kakching, presided over the function.

Shri N. Devendro, Food Safety Officer (FSO) Kakching, served as a resource person and delivered a keynote address on food safety and its importance in child development.

As part of the closing ceremony, a Community Sports event was held, and notebooks along with other essential items were distributed to participants.

Observed from April 8 to 23, the 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada 2025 focused on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life—a crucial period for physical and cognitive development. With themes emphasizing maternal and infant nutrition, digital access for beneficiaries, and prevention of childhood obesity, this year’s campaign highlighted outcome-based strategies to improve nutritional well-being across the district.
