Kohima, Apr 22: The Nagaland Cabinet has decided to put on hold the regularisation of 147 Assistant Professors and librarians, following agitations and concerns raised by various NGOs and stakeholders.

Minister for Higher Education Temjen Imna Along stated that a five-member committee comprising senior bureaucrats has been constituted to review the matter. The committee will be headed by Agriculture Production Commissioner Wezope Kenye.

He informed that the committee will hold detailed consultations with stakeholders and NGOs before submitting its recommendations. The committee has been given two months to complete the review and submit its report.

The Minister acknowledged the concerns expressed by the agitators and urged all stakeholders to suspend their protests and cooperate with the committee during the review process.
