Kohima, Apr 22: Temsunaro Aier, IAS, Development Commissioner and State Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland, inaugurated the newly built Government Primary School in Hongphoi Village on April 21, 2025. The school, which consists of five classrooms, was funded by Samagra Shiksha and constructed with the support of the local Village Council.
In her address, Aier praised the village community for their cooperation in completing the school building and expressed her gratitude for their collective efforts. She encouraged students to focus on hard work, emphasizing that success is determined by individual effort, not by the quality of school infrastructure or the medium of instruction.
Aier also highlighted the importance of the New Educational Policy, urging the teaching community to adopt its principles. She stressed that education should focus on all-round development, not just classroom learning, and called for a greater emphasis on nurturing each child’s competencies and motivating their learning.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Joint Mission Director Dr. Kevizakie Rio, State Co-ordinator Samagra Shiksha Meren, Junior Engineer Yonghok, and DEO Mon Enibemo Shitio. The school was dedicated by Pastor HBC, Rev. R. Phowang. The ceremony included speeches from community leaders and a special performance by Grace Home Hostellers, followed by a benediction from B.T. Nahwang, Associate Pastor Youth.
