Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited Hands Over Two JCBs To Mizoram Government Under CSR Initiative

Aizawl, Apr 22: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited on Monday handed over two JCB machines to the Government of Mizoram under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The handover ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall in Aizawl, where Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma officially received the equipment.

The JCBs will be utilized for road safety operations and disaster management by the District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) of Aizawl and Serchhip. A short programme followed the symbolic key handover.

Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma expressed appreciation for the donation, stating that the equipment would strengthen the state’s disaster response capabilities. He also acknowledged Toyota Kirloskar’s continued support, including contributions to traffic management in Aizawl and involvement in public events such as Chapchar Kut.

Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President and Country Head of Toyota Kirloskar, emphasized the importance of disaster preparedness in Mizoram, which is prone to natural calamities. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the state through its CSR initiatives.

A Memorandum of Agreement outlining the usage of the equipment was also presented to the Chief Minister.

Gulati was joined by Roshan R, General Manager, and other company officials, along with representatives from Zote Toyota, the local dealership. Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister, Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, also attended the event.

The two JCBs will be managed by the Aizawl DDMA and Serchhip DDMA, headed by Er. Lalhriatpuia, Aizawl DC, and Pu Paul L. Khuma, Serchhip DC, respectively. Both officials delivered brief remarks upon receiving the machines.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Aizawl Traffic, Pu Stephen Lalrinawma, and CEO of Smart City Limited, Pu C.C. Lalchhuangkima, also provided updates on the Integrated Control & Command Centre, a traffic management initiative in Aizawl supported by Toyota Kirloskar through its CSR programme.
