Gangtok, Apr 23: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay met with a delegation from the Parliamentary Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Rajya Sabha, at his official residence, Mintokgang, on Wednesday.
The delegation was led by Milind Murli Deora, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee, and included key officials from the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
The delegation comprised Har Prateek Arya, Director, Rajya Sabha Secretariat; Neeraj Shekhar, MP; Suresh Kumar, Joint Director in the Office of the Chairman; Archana Kapil, Under Secretary, Office of the Chairman; PP Ramon, Under Secretary; and Vinod Kumar, Committee Official. Dr. Indra Hang Subba, Sikkim’s Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), also participated in the meeting.
Discussions focused on the development of the Northeastern region, with particular emphasis on Sikkim’s infrastructure, regional connectivity, and potential investment in sectors such as sustainable tourism, organic farming, and clean energy.
The Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the committee’s proactive approach to the region’s progress, stressing the significance of such engagements in addressing the needs of the Northeastern states.
