Kohima, Apr 25: The inaugural Nagaland Open FIDE Rating Rapid Chess Tournament commenced on Thursday in Dimapur.
The two-day event is being organised by the Nagaland Chess Association under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation. A total of 144 players from across the Northeast region and West Bengal are taking part in the tournament.
Grandmaster Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury from West Bengal, one of the youngest Chess Grandmasters in India, is participating in the Open category.
