Agartala, April 24, 2025: In a move reflecting his commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the state, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha made a surprise visit to the Gandhigram Primary Health Center under West Tripura district on Thursday. During the visit, he personally interacted with health workers, patients and officials to assess the quality of services provided.

Walking through various departments of the center, the Chief Minister took stock of the functioning of the staff and the availability of resources. “The overall service is satisfactory,” Dr. Saha remarked, “but I have noticed a few shortcomings which need immediate attention. I will be discussing these issues with the concerned officials for a quick resolution.”

The Chief Minister’s unannounced inspection underscores the government’s proactive approach toward strengthening the healthcare system. He emphasized that such visits will continue as part of a broader strategy to enhance transparency and accountability.

Later in the day, Dr. Saha also visited the local Water Board to review health-related services at the community level. “I am personally monitoring the improvements in healthcare services,” he said. “Our goal is to ensure that every citizen, even in the remotest corner of the state, receives quality healthcare.”

The visit has been widely appreciated by residents and staff, with many expressing hope that such direct involvement by the state’s highest leadership will bring about swift and meaningful change in the healthcare sector.
