Tripura: Two Bangladeshi Nationals, Two Indian Touts Arrested by BSF at Dharmanagar ISBT

Agartala, April 24, 2025: The 199th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) arrested two Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian touts from Dharmanagar Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) under North Tripura district around 12 noon on Wednesday last in a joint operation aimed at curbing illegal cross-border activities.

The arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Mohammad Noor (22) and Mohammad Elamin Howlader (24). Both are residents of the Rajapur Sadar Police Station area in Khulna district, Bangladesh.

Alongside them, the BSF also apprehended two Indian nationals suspected of aiding the illegal entry. They have been identified as Swapan Goala (46), a resident of Sumarumukh Ward No. 1 under Kailashahar Police Station and Bidhan Deb (25), a resident of Bhadrapalli Ward No. 1, both from Unakoti district.

According to preliminary reports, the four individuals had allegedly entered Indian territory via the India-Bangladesh border at Kailashahar and were headed to Chennai in search of employment opportunities.

“A case has been registered at Dharmanagar Police Station regarding passport violations. The matter is under investigation, and all four were produced before the court today,” confirmed Sitikanta Bardhan, Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station on Thursday.
