Agartala, April 25, 2025: “Blood donation is not just a noble act—it is a social duty. The new generation must be encouraged to step forward and fulfill this responsibility,” said Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while inaugurating a blood donation camp on the 70th foundation day of the Deed Writers Association.

The event took place at the premises of the District and Sessions Judge Court near Fire Brigade Chowmuhani here in Agartala city on Friday. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the life-saving power of blood donation.

“One person’s donated blood can save the lives of three to four critical patients,” he said, underlining the importance of regular blood donation drives in the state. He further added that both government and private sectors are taking active steps to meet the growing demand for blood.

“Tripura holds a special place in the country when it comes to blood donation. It is heartening to see organizations like the Deed Writers Association taking time from their busy schedules to contribute to such noble causes,” Dr. Saha noted.

He appreciated the Deed Writers Association not only for its role in providing legal assistance to the public but also for its commitment to social service. “I hope they will continue to engage in such initiatives in the future as well,” he added after visiting the camp and personally encouraging the donors.

Gautam Kumar Das, the convener of the program, welcomed attendees with an opening address. Other dignitaries present included Bhikkhu Kamal Vaishnav Maharaj of Chaitanya Gaudiya Math Shri Jagannath Jiu Mandir, B.K. Mamata Behenji of Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya University, Corporator Janbhi Das Chowdhury and social worker Shyamal Kumar Deb.
