Shillong, Apr 25: A 30-year-old man was arrested in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district for allegedly praising the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on social media.

Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed that the accused, identified as Simon Shylla, was arrested on Thursday from his residence in Umlyngka town. The arrest followed a raid by the special cell, during which two mobile phones were seized.

Shylla reportedly posted anti-national comments in support of the attack on a video. A case has been filed at Lumdiengjri Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
