Gangtok, Apr 28: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay led a candlelight vigil in Gangtok on Sunday to condemn the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Joined by Madam Krishna Rai, Cabinet members, senior officials, public representatives, and citizens, the event marked a collective stand against terrorism.
The peaceful march through Gangtok’s streets was a demonstration of solidarity, with participants carrying candles to honor the victims and reaffirm the commitment to peace and unity.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Tamang-Golay emphasized the importance of brotherhood and resilience. “The courage and compassion shown by our citizens, especially the youth, strengthens our hope for a better and safer future,” he said, calling for unity against those who threaten peace.
The Chief Minister extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. “On behalf of the people of Sikkim, I offer our deepest sympathies and pledge our support to the nation during this difficult time,” he stated.
