Gangtok , Apr 28: Tokhan Sahu, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, concluded his official visit to Namchi district on Monday.
During the visit, Sahu inspected the PM Shri Government Secondary School in Assangthang, where he was given a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the school’s achievements, including the establishment of digital classrooms, an ICT lab, solar panel installations, water facilities, and CCTV surveillance systems. The Minister also engaged with students, reciting a poem and interacting with them and the school staff during his tour of the classrooms.
Sahu’s visit also included a stop at Maniram Phalidara, where he inspected a PMAY-J house jointly constructed under the PMAY-G and MGNREGA schemes. He interacted with Panchayat members, the beneficiary Dawa Dorjee Tamang, and his family, discussing the impact of the project.
Additionally, Sahu visited the Health and Wellness Centre and Anganwadi Centre at Maniram Bhangyang. He reviewed the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Card and other wellness initiatives, and underwent a routine health check-up conducted by the centre’s medical staff.
Earlier, Sahu offered prayers at Siddheshwar Dham, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva.
Throughout his visit, Sahu was accompanied by MLA Satish Chandra Rai, DC Namchi Anupa Tamling, SDMs, CEO Namchi, BDO Namchi, and other officials from the concerned departments.
