Agartala, April 28, 2025: Despite the vast expansion of economic activities over time, agriculture remains a cornerstone of civilization, and young entrepreneurs are still finding inspiration in the soil. A shining example has been set by Manik Mia, a graduate youth from Paschim Ghilatali under the Kalyanpur Agricultural Subdivision of Khowai district, who has made remarkable strides in the agricultural sector through dedication and innovation.
Manik Mia, engaged in farming for the past six to seven years, has been supporting his family of five by cultivating vegetables on leased land, despite not owning any farmland himself. Using scientific farming methods, he has successfully grown a variety of crops, especially improved varieties of brinjal, which have yielded significant profits.
“After completing my graduation, I chose agriculture as my profession. By planning carefully and applying scientific cultivation methods, I am now able to earn a decent income,” Manik shared.
Highlighting the challenges faced by farmers, he noted, “The cost of farming is relatively high, but with proper planning and the use of modern technology, it is possible to achieve good profits.” He added, “If the government ensures the easy availability of seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs, the agricultural sector can develop even faster.”
Manik Mia’s journey is a testament to self-reliance and determination. Without owning land, he has demonstrated that with willpower, education, and strategic planning, the younger generation can lead society forward through agriculture.
