Shillong, Apr 29: The Government of Meghalaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India, Bhashini Division, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) during the Bhashini Rajyam Workshop. This partnership marks a key development in language technology aimed at improving communication across the state.
The AI-powered translation system will facilitate real-time translations between the Khasi and Garo languages, in addition to Hindi, English, and other languages. This initiative is set to enhance the efficiency of governance and foster greater national unity through better communication.
The technology is expected to benefit government officials working in Meghalaya’s multilingual environment, improving interaction with rural communities and ensuring more effective service delivery.
