Kohima, Apr 30: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) held a joint public rally on Tuesday at the Indo-Myanmar Trade Centre in Avakhung, located under the Meluri sub-division.
In his address, MLA and NPF Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon reiterated the party’s strong stance against the border fencing and the suspension of the Free Movement Regime (FMR), emphasizing the challenges faced by Naga communities in border regions.
Kikon highlighted the Naga people’s wish for peaceful relations with both India and Myanmar, based on shared history and indigenous rights.
PAPO expressed its firm opposition to the border fencing and FMR suspension, condemning the measures as “inhumane” and “divisive.”
