Nagaland CM Inaugurates Water Supply Project For 24 Villages In Kohima

Kohima, Apr 30: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the NLCPR Project on Tuesday, which will provide water supply to 24 villages in the Chiephobozou RD Block of Kohima district.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by Minister for PHED Jacob Zhimomi, highlighted the importance of community-led maintenance and management of the infrastructure. CM Rio emphasized that while the Department has initiated the project, its long-term sustainability relies on the commitment of local villages.

In his address, Rio also urged communities to adopt water conservation measures, such as rainwater harvesting and the rejuvenation of traditional wells, to ensure the preservation of water resources.

The event also saw the inauguration of the NESIDS project aimed at developing tourism infrastructure at Tuophema Tourist Village.
