Gangtok, Apr 30: The Forest and Environment Department of Sikkim participated in the National Review Meeting of the Watershed Development Component under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY) 2.0, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 29th April 2025.

The meeting, organized by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Government of India, brought together senior officials from across the country to review the progress of the program and discuss strategies for effective implementation. Udai Gurung, CF-MS, and Arati Basnet, JD-CEO, represented Sikkim’s State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) at the event.

During the review, the Sikkim team presented the state’s progress and achievements under the program, focusing on terrain-specific planning, seasonal work scheduling, and community participation. The department also highlighted its efforts in fund utilization, natural resource management, and livelihood enhancement through watershed interventions, underscoring Sikkim’s commitment to sustainable development and alignment with national objectives.
