Agartala, April 30, 2025: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Wednesday announced the results for the 2025 Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations during a press conference held in Agartala.

TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury revealed that the Madhyamik exam recorded an overall pass percentage of 86.53%, while the Higher Secondary exam posted a 79.29% success rate.

This year, a total of 29,670 students appeared for the Madhyamik exams—13,861 boys and 15,809 girls—marking a decrease from 33,739 candidates in 2024. Of them, 11,895 boys and 13,778 girls passed, continuing the trend of female students outperforming their male counterparts.

Out of the 1,019 schools that participated in the Madhyamik exams, 345 schools achieved a perfect 100% pass rate. Notably, no school reported a zero pass rate.

In district-wise performance, South Tripura topped the list with a 92.69% pass rate, followed by Gomati at 90.42% and Sepahijala at 89.93%. At the sub-divisional level, Jampuijala recorded the highest success rate at 97.99%, trailed by Karbook (96.72%) and Belonia (95.17%).

For the Higher Secondary examinations, 21,506 students appeared this year, comprising 9,920 boys and 11,586 girls. Among them, 7,564 boys and 9,488 girls cleared the exams, once again showcasing better results among female students. No candidate was reported under the ‘Third Gender’ category in 2025.

A total of 39 schools recorded a 100% pass rate in the Higher Secondary segment. However, three schools reported zero pass rates.

Sepahijala district led in Higher Secondary results as well, with 87.98% of students passing (2,520 out of 2,884). South Tripura followed with 82.47% (2,715 out of 3,292), while West Tripura recorded an 82.20% pass rate (4,337 out of 5,276).

TBSE also noted a significant decline in enrollment and exam attendance for the Higher Secondary exams. The number of enrolled students dropped from 27,822 in 2024 to 24,250 in 2025, a 12.83% decrease. The number of students who appeared dropped even more sharply, by 15.16% year-on-year.
