Campaigning For First Phase Of Assam Panchayat Polls Ends

Guwahati, May 1: The campaigning for the first phase of Assam’s panchayat elections, scheduled for May 2, concluded on Wednesday. The polls will be held across 14 districts of the state.

The districts participating in this phase include Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Majuli, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Sribhumi.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP state president Dilip Saikia, led the campaigning for the ruling NDA.
