Nagaland Hosts Workshop On Geospatial Technology For Enhanced Governance And Development

Kohima,May 1: A state-level workshop, titled “Empowering Governance and Development by Leveraging Geospatial Resources,” was held in Kohima, bringing together experts, officials, and policymakers for an in-depth session on the advancements in geospatial technology.

In her inaugural address, Temsunaro Aier, Development Commissioner for Planning & Transformation, highlighted the workshop’s role in raising awareness, boosting technical capacity, and promoting the use of geospatial tools in governance and development.

Aier also spoke about the North Eastern Spatial Data Repository (NeSDR), stressing its potential in enabling smarter, evidence-based decision-making.

During the event, Senior Project Director of NGISRSC, Mhathung Kithan, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the critical need for inter-departmental collaboration in the application of space technology for various governance and development initiatives.
