Heroin Worth ₹4 Crore Seized In Joint Assam Police Operation, One Arrested

Guwahati, May 2: Assam Police seized 671.92 grams of heroin, valued at ₹4 crore, during a joint operation by Golaghat Police and Karbi Anglong Police at No.1 Chungajan. One drug peddler was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The successful operation, carried out based on intelligence inputs, led to the interception of a vehicle suspected to be carrying narcotics. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the joint effort, stating on social media, “In a joint anti-narcotics operation, 671.92g of heroin worth ₹4 crore has been seized. One peddler has been arrested.”

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Assam. In a related incident, Cachar Police conducted four separate operations within 24 hours, seizing narcotics worth ₹2 crore and arresting 10 individuals involved in drug trafficking.
